Having troubles with online geekery

It’s a very beautiful Sunday morning as usual, with the oldies people file to go to churches and where most teenagers like me should still be lying on the bed asleep, fresh from alcohol and the nightlife that have transpired from the night before the morning. As usual, here is the different me, the out-of-style me, the non-conformist me. I’m sober, I’m awake, and I did not party yesterday. Not that I like it, but I am really borderline broke-dom (if you consider such a word) and I only have 100 pesos inside my wallet. And you bet I’m going to consume it in just one week with one purchase of Globe load to nourish my need to text my friends, family and the text mates. So now you understand why I can’t go out and binge myself with partying.

So instead of that, I chose to try geekery stuff. Not to mention some girly stuff. I tried opening my Flickr account again and organized my photos there. And then suddenly, like libido, I felt the urge to move one of my photo albums from Multiply to Flickr just because I think that it suits better there. But hell no, the Flickr has no uploader of photos to Multiply, nor Multiply has a photo exporter to Flickr. That sucks, but I really want to move one particular album from Multiply to Flickr just for the heck of it. I’m thinking of just saving all the pictures to the computer and then uploading them all to Multiply. But shit that’s very hard and time-consuming. I guess I have to start now - well not now.

I also tried to fix my website, trying to find a new theme, but to no avail. I maybe am the unluckiest Wordpress themes searcher in the world because of my obsessive-compulsiveness. I want professional-looking themes with style and the angas to back it up. And most of the free Wordpress themes that they are releasing are a pile of shit. No really, seriously. If you are a (even an upstart) web developer, wouldn’t you be bothered if you see ugly, unorganized and eye-wrecking themes like this site has? Never ever do this even if you’re just an upstart blogger using free sites like Blogger, WP.com or LiveJournal. It’s fucking murder to the eyes and to the webspace that this site is occupying. EPIC FAIL.

Moving on, I found this particular theme but customizing it is trying to deal with a spoiled and bitchy girlfriend - it’s hard to figure out and messy. I also tried to edit the bottom bar of that site but only to no avail. The theme’s bottom bar is not widgetized and I’m not of that much of a php or a css geek so I can’t mess it all up. I tried editing the header and replacing it with a picture but the CSS messed it up. The sidebar widgets are bitchy and non-conformist to my needs. The main body text was quite disorganized. The promising theme was nothing short of being a mess so I wasted no time in ditching the theme. Another FAIL.

What I just did was to just stick back to my lovely, original theme which I (ehem ehem) personally (ehem ehem) customized and I tried to make a new custom header for my site. What you now see above my site is the product of my imagination, labor and wit. Plus a bit of creativity (read: ka-jologan), of course. The large text is big but the color mix is enough justification to make this my personal site’s logo. See that I ditched all other pictures for this because that will be the lone and official header of this site. YAY! LOLZ. But seriously, that will be the official header of this site.

The biggest geekery problem for me so far is the site rendering errors with the Internet Explorer and Safari web browsers. This site has no problem loading and rendering with Mozilla Firefox but when I open my site using the Internet Explorer and Safari, there is where the problems and all the fuckery + shittery start to pile up on me. Honestly, I still don’t know how to solve the rendering problems. I’m still thinking of ways to solve it. Maybe it’s just some CSS coding error or I have to sort things that have been missed out in the PHP code.

Error from IE:

Error from Safari:

So, I’m pleading you to death if you’re still using IE or Safari to view my site… use Mozilla Firefox for the best viewing experience.

In other news, I’m still thinking if I’m going to edit the CSS of my Friendster and Multiply site to conform to the colors of my personal webpage. I’m still thinking. I tried editing my Friendster CSS earlier (yes, I open my Friendster), but after a few clicks far into the process, I realized that editing the whole thing was boring and getting old. So I just settled for the nearest solution - switching to the purple haze theme that Friendster has as a preset profile customization. I’ll think if I want to do it. And so up to now, I’m still thinking of ways to bring that particular photo album set from my Multiply to my Flickr, and it appears that the only resolution to the conflict is to just save the pictures one by one and upload it to the Flickr site.

I’m fucking enjoying all of these geekery stuff. Hell yeah.

My site looks stupid on IE, too. I’d normally try to make my layouts decent for all browsers, but I couldnt be bothered with my current layout. IE sucks.

Yep, IE really sucks because it renders my site in an ugly way and it loads much slower in IE than compared to Firefox and even Safari.

All my efforts customizing my profile seem to go to waste once I view it in IE.
