This sentence made the day of most Filipinos. The days of some were destroyed because of this statement from GMA. President Arroyo mentioned this statement in response to the survey that more Filipinos are getting hungrier and they can’t nourish themselves for three times a day, and sometimes they don’t get to eat for a whole day. LOL at her she’s the president for fuck’s sake. GMA even reasoned out that she does not eat sometimes and she also goes hungry. What a president. But we can’t just go and flame her like these morons who react a million times to the moves of the president.
For a certified Pinoy ranter, she has the primary responsibility of feeding these leprechauns and giving them enough food. And the hecklers will point Gloria as the a very corrupt person in relation to the hunger topic. They will. Never-endingly. Of course, these are the times where they can berate Gloria to fucking hell without caring even if they are not already helping the country. Making things short, they bear the initials G.O. The are always the first ones to make over-reactions when they think the President has messed up.
But…
If you first think of it, you’d really think that Mrs. Arroyo is a living asshole with her recent statement, blaming some Pinoys of poor money management as a reason for their hunger. In my opinion, somehow she is correct. To some degree, she is right. There are those Pinoys who mismanage their money like they have all the fucking money in the world. You’d see poor people who always think that they will starve to death tomorrow and currently are financially deprived and yet can procure 3G mobile phones with 30 pesos e-load. There are also those students who are having a problem in financing their education and yet they have mp3 players chucked in their ears. It’s sickening to the gut that we have these kinds of people who we think of as buried in poverty but who have techno gadgets. These people who burn their body with liquor and yet these are the same drinkers who cannot produce food for their family. You can see them in movies, but we see them more in real life.
It’s pretty understandable that you can’t blame GMA for her actions because the people whom she branded “maluho” really exist. And they are in flocks. Included in this tirade are the people who gamble to fuck themselves up and end up losing sums of money which they could have used to feed their family. I mean, what kind of a right-minded person would do vices over the food of their family?
But what Gloria did was overkill. Her intentions for the Pinoys were good, but the way she expressed in just blew it all up. I mean there is nothing bad in saving up but the way to convince and express Pinoys to save up is another case, and Gloria got it all wrong in the expression part. The leprechauns got another open shot at her again, saying that it was her own fault why the country is hungry and they again pointed out Gloria’s corrupt practices as a precedent to the first statement.
But there is still hope for us. There are still Filipinos who are not that well-off but survive the hard times today. We still have them. These are the people we can’t blame for buying techie things or luxuries that they really saved up for, with all their primary expenses saturated. These people who practice hard work and thrift can give Filipinos a glimmer of hope - and a lead to start with.
Still, nothing is solved in this hunger crisis and iringan issue. What we need, I think, is for the government and the masses to meet at the center and be transparent with each other. If we want to start in the right footing, we need to understand each other’s venture point.

I agree to some of your points (not all though). In my case for example, true I have a 3G phone, true that I have an mp3 player - but heck, I AM FUCKING BURNING MY ASS OFF to generate all these money. I mean I am so working hard not only to feed myself but to buy everything I wanted.. but what do I get? A VERY HUGE TAX! And where do these taxes go? I DON’T KNOW! Beat the hell out of me but the President should find ways to uplift the present state of the Filipinos.
Well honestly I don’t mind paying huge taxes as long as I can see and feel where it’s going. But nah, I don’t even feel a single cent of my tax coming back to me …
So in a nutshell, yes, the president, in most ways, sucks.
They couldnt anyone from the government who can be a good example and role model for them.
