Yay! I got into the Yahoo Mash. I got an invite from somebody who came from some site that I registered into. There’s nothing really flashy with Yahoo! Mash, it’s just the typical social networking site, maybe comparable to Facebook but which I hope doesn’t turn out to be the next Friendster full of this, this, this and this. But so far, so good for Yahoo Mash. Nothing flashy and not really worth joining (especially for Facebook die-hards) but I ought to show here what’s inside that Yahoo Mash profile.
Exhibit 1: Picture and Name box plus a custom profile message for all of your viewers, like ROTFLMAO.
Exhibit 2: About me - the site’s personal slum book. The most stupid and cheesy questions can go in here.
Exhibit 3: Friends list. I’m new so I have only one friend.
Exhibit 4: Your personal pet at disposal. You can name him/her anything you want, do anything to the pet like poke, smack, feed hug and kill. Me? I’ve already killed it for 5 times.
Exhibit 5: Your personal details go in here.
Exhibit 6: Personal stuff goes in here like videos and pictures - as it says in the box caption.
Exhibit 7: I don’t know what this is for but I assume that this is the tag box for your Mash profile and not for your blog or something else.
Exhibit 8: Blurts - say anything that you want to say, like what you do in Facebook or Twitter. If you hate a person three times over, you can write that you hate that person here, in Facebook and in Twitter simultaneously.
Exhibit 9: Flickr Photostream. Just enter your RSS link in Flickr and it fetches the image. The organization of the images is poor though.
Exhibit 10: Conversations. Not sure if this acts as the testimonials box or if this is an IM box.
Exhibit 11: Youtube videos. I used the NBA video stream. Teehee.
Exhibit 12: Customize your profile directly. Glitter graphics are not allowed, unless you are able to sneak in glitter graphics in the background image.
Exhibit 13: This is where I got the Flickr application, the Youtube videos and the pet. This is called the Module section of Yahoo Mash.
Exhibit 14: I also got this from the Modules Box (ICANHASCHEEZBURGER) but it seems that it doesn’t want to feature pics of lolcats. Ergo, it’s a lolcat failure.
Overall, I can say it’s a decent and a good social networking site for now, though I don’t know what my judgement will be once this opens up for most of the Filipino masses, knowing what they did to Friendster. And the Yahoo Mash is still on invite mode. If you want to give Yahoo Mash a try, hit up the comment section of this post for an invite request. I’ll gladly comply.

If you have an account in Yahoo! Mash, please add me.
